Life is ever changing, and with change can bring a plethora of other emotions including stress, depression and anxiety. It takes strength to seek help when we are feeling most vulnerable. I aim to create a safe, warm, and supportive connection with another person and use that connection to cultivate change. All transitions are difficult, whether it is anticipated or unexpected change. As adults, we have many responsibilities to uphold. Specifically, with regards to health I have an extensive background working with individuals with new medical diagnosis or health concerns. Receiving such a diagnosis can be shocking and scary, and it’s my role to support you to focus on hope for the future and to provide an empathetic space.
In addition to working with medical related transitions, I am committed to working with individuals who have experienced grief, loss, and trauma or abuse. Every individual is unique and responds differently when feeling hopeless and stressed. Your experiences and perceptions are real because they’re yours. When you feel a certain way, it is significant, even if others may suggest that what’s on our mind is “really not that big of a deal.” If your instinct is telling you something doesn’t feel right, you deserve a chance to explore that. I want to explore those ideas with you, and provide a space where you feel comfortable talking about whatever you want in a safe and judgment-free zone. I want to encourage you to sit with the uncomfortable feelings you may be having so we can recognize that they are real. We can then begin to look at what’s behind those feelings and work towards a better sense of control over them.
